Prof Kauffman is the Founding Director of the Institute of Coaching located at McLean Hospital, Harvard Medical School, where she is an Assistant Clinical Professor. She launched the annual Harvard Coaching Conference, now given annually each September as well as the International Coaching Research Forum. an annual working conference.
She has taught at McLean Hospital, Department of Psychiatry at H.M.S. since 1985 and has been a senior supervisor for over twenty five years. Dr. Kauffman is a veteran psychologist and coach she is a Professional Certified Coach and has participated in over 38,000 psychotherapy and coaching sessions. Carol maintains an active executive coaching and coaching supervision practice in the US, UK and Europe and is the Chief Supervisor for Meyler Campbell Ltd a business coaching programme based in London. As a regular Keynote speaker, Dr. Kauffman also runs Master Classes and Workshops on numerous topics related to coaching, development, positive psychology and strengths-based interventions. She has spoken recently in Germany, Netherlands, UK, Canada, China, Malaysia, Portugal and throughout the US.
Carol and her work are featured and quoted extensively in the media including the NY Times, Wall Street Journal, LA Times, USA Today, Business Week, Forbes and NewYork Magazine. She co-authored the Harvard Business Review 2009 article on the value of executive coaching.
